I have notice a very disrespectful tend toward Kirkwood business owners, disabled, and City of Blooming citizens and guests. Shen there are events are held on Kirkwood it has taken the city and extra day to remove the Ballard posts. This extra day for each event wastes public good of being able to park and go to local businesses on Sunday. This also wasted the public free space that a lot of people use on Sunday to go to those businesses. Maybe the city administration and staff don’t care because they are using a city vehicle to go and shop or eat downtown with out paying the meters. I can see understand if their jobs directly relates to a project or direct issue. They are just not getting a free space but they are keeping a paying person either by feeding the meter or a ticket and going to visit a local business.
I digress also with the extra day of keeping the street all of the parking spaces are going to waste. Only the business and citizens are feeling the inconvenience of this change in policy. Maybe the city should give an additional day of free parking on areas closed after an event so maybe the city will share in the inconvenience of not opening the street up asap. |

Illegal parking on street and grass at Olcott Park for youth games on Saturdays and Sundays. People parking on grass, in front of hydrants and stop signs are making the road almost impassable at The Stands and Canada Dr area in front of the park. Last week there was a death in the house on that corner and the EMT’s and fire truck could barely get to the house because of double parking and a mess of cars. Please tell coaches the Jackson Creek Middle School parking lot is where people should be parking and please have a police presence next weekend to direct people and to ticket cars parked illegally. |

I am writing to follow up on my previous request to repaint the curb in front of my driveway with yellow "no parking" paint, to ensure drivers do not obstruct my visibility when exiting my property.
Since the repaving and reopening of West 1st Street, traffic has increased significantly, with vehicles frequently traveling in excess of 40 mph. This creates a hazardous situation for homeowners along the street. With the fall semester starting this week, on-street parking near my home is (404 E 1st Street) already at capacity, further compounding the visibility and safety concerns.
I would greatly appreciate it if this issue could be addressed as soon as possible.

The traffic light at 3rd and Madison turns red for 3rd and green for Madison when there is no one trying to cross at Madison, either in a vehicle, on a bike, or as a pedestrian. 3rd is the detour for the Rogers closure, and it causes backups on 3rd when the light is red for 40-50 seconds for no reason. Then, the light at 3rd and Rogers is not timing up with the erroneous red lights at Madison, so traffic just backs up yet again one block away between those two lights. Send someone out ot fix this. Madison used to require someone to be there to trigger it. That would be a much better solution, go back to how it worked fine before. |

I have reported this light at S. Walnut and E. South Dr. numerous times. The City needs to finally fix it. The light triggers for South Drive on its own, a phantom vehicle or pedestrian. Then, the light is red for Walnut in both directions for 45-50 seconds. Traffic backs up on Walnut, all so no one can proceed on South Drive because no one is there to use the light. This light used to only go to green for South Drive if someone was there in a vehicle or pushed the pedestrian button. That broke down earlier this year and continues to be a significant issue that the City does not seem to address. Why would Walnut not be a higher preference as a major north/south road? |

On the northwest side of 2nd & Walker, the construction work has cut a massive opening in the multi-use path. The asphalt is gone across the entire width of the trail, and there is a probably 5-8 inch deep abyss that is very dangerous on a bike, and would certainly be challenging for anyone walking or in a wheelchair trying to get through there safely. Can this be addressed? |

This is an urgent public safety, transit operations, and traffic flow hazard linked directly to active uReport cases #213337 and #213273. Using the 302 S. Walnut St. terminal platforms as an unmanaged, unsupervised triage, cooling, and heating center without any specialized oversight relying on passengers to keep the peace and make reports is actively disrupting public transit vehicle traffic. Large crowds, sprawling personal property, bed rolls, and temporary camping items are spilling directly off the designated bus bay benches and onto active boarding paths, pedestrian walkways, and loading lanes. This severe congestion introduces major physical obstructions, causing transit buses to delay docking, creating hazardous driver line-of-sight blind spots, and drastically slowing down passenger boarding flow during early morning and peak commute windows.Furthermore, this operational chaos results in constant, daily ambulance and emergency vehicle responses to the platforms. Due to the restricted lane space and structural congestion at this terminal, responding emergency vehicles routinely block active bus departures and transit traffic lanes. This persistent gridlock forces paying passengers to miss critical medical appointments and lose employment opportunities due to unpredictable, blocked transit vehicles.Compounding this vehicle hazard, the hostile platform environment has caused a severe collapse in off-peak passenger retention. Long-term, multi-year riders are abandoning Bloomington Transit because paying commuters trying to access their designated routes are treated as trespassers in an intimidating, territorial space. Surrendering active loading zones and emergency exits to non-transit use is an unsustainable municipal performance failure that violates Title 15 transit zone compliance. Clear the active bus bays, remove the obstructions from the loading platforms, and restore unobstructed lane access for public vehicles. |
