Potholes, Other Street Repair |
open |
The newly installed speed bump on W. Patterson Dr. is poorly constructed and poses a serious hazard to both drivers and their vehicles. The transition from the speed bump back onto the roadway is so abrupt and uneven that even driving over it at a reasonable speed can cause significant impact. Unfortunately, I know this firsthand, as I drove over it at a reasonable speed and it was enough to bend one of my vehicle’s wheels.
What makes this especially frustrating is that W. Patterson Dr. was closed for an extended period, yet many of its existing problems, which include potholes, severely rough pavement, and recessed manholes were not addressed. Instead, a new speed bump was installed so poorly that it has effectively created another roadway hazard.
A traffic-calming device should improve safety, not damage vehicles. I strongly urge the responsible department to inspect and correct this speed bump and its transition immediately before additional vehicles are damaged or someone is injured. |
