Bloomington, INclosedTraffic SuggestionsThe northbound side of N Kinser Pike at the intersection with SR 45 could desperately use a dedicated right turn lane, as traffic often backs through multiple traffic light cycles. I already reached out to INDOT and they said that they don't have any funded projects on their end. BUT they would be willing to work with the city if we wanted to take the initiative. See below: Case #: CS0513872 Request Description: The northbound side of Kinser Pike could use a right-turn lane where it intersects with SR 45 in Bloomington. Folks frequently use the shoulder here as a makeshift turn lane but it is full of potholes and not well-suited for this purpose. A dedicated turn lane would greatly help improve throughput during busy times when the light is very short. There is ample room to expand, and it appears that the lots already belong to DOT and the Indiana DNR. Resolution: Thank you for contacting the Indiana Department of Transportation. Our Traffic Investigations Engineer has reported a turn lane would require widening with full-depth pavement and utility relocation. INDOT does not have any funded projects to construct a right turn lane at this location. If the City would like to pursue the addition of a turn lane on Kinser Pk, they can work with INDOT Permits. Construction season is in full swing, stay safe! Buckle Up, Phone Down.5 months ago

Bloomington, INclosedStreet Snow RemovalWe are on a cul-de-sac. Every snow, the snow is piled at our driveway entry. Fortunately, when shoveling our driveway, a snowplow came and removed snow from half of the entry at my request. However, I think all the snow from our street is piled between our drive and the neighbor drive. Pile is about 5 ft high. It also covers half of our drive. Can that snow be removed? Or do we have to wait until it melts? I'm afraid it will overwhelm the street drainage. Not angry about it, just asking.5 months ago
