this photo is facing north on rogers at 11th street. there are several flaws in the MOT for this project at about 16th and rogers. 1) the sidewalk is closed on the left (west) side, and conpletely obstructed on the right side by a caution sign for motorists (state law says you cannot obstruct bike lanes or sidewalk for temporary signs), so both sidewalks are blocked! 2) the west sidewalk was closed a full 24 hours before any work was begun, including overnight! 3) the west closure is for half a mile between 11th and 17th, but the work only covers about 200ft of this distance. that's insane! people live on both sides of the street and we need local pedestrian access!! thanks! |
