| Bloomington, IN | open | Parks & Playgrounds | I'm writing to express my gratitude for the efforts Bloomington Parks and Rec is making to support reduce pollution, save money, and support native species and ecosystem services in our city parks.
I've been particularly delighted to see former areas of lawn in Winslow Park and Crestmont Park converted to no mow zones and planted with native trees! After just a short period of time, these areas are already supporting wildlife and adding natural beauty (asters were blooming today!) in a ways that mowed lawns never could.
