Bloomington, IN Trash open Does HAND have any authority to force tenants to remove furniture that sits in the front yard 24/7? This location is just one of multiple rentals in the area that have newly-constructed beer-pong tables littering the yards. Are there any ordinances against such things? There are significantly more of these things popping up this year for some reason. about 1 month ago
Bloomington, IN Trash open Huge mound of trash piled up against the north end of the porch. New tenants might not know the trash pickup schedule. about 1 month ago
Bloomington, IN Excessive Growth open There is a rental home on N. Fess (maybe 404?), that has several Tree of Heaven saplings on the property. My guess is the owner just cut or mowed the plant down which has lead to significant resprouting. Given the invasive nature of the tress, my hope is that HAND can educate the land owner on the many available programs in Bloomington to properly assist with removal. about 1 month ago

Bloomington, IN Parking Meters and Citations open What am I misunderstanding here? This is the violation (I believe) that parking enforcement is unable to find repeatedly. Is parking this far out into the street this close to an intersection allowed? If you check, I think you'll find the public right of way cuts basically due West from here landing about mid way along the car. I'm pretty sure this 'space' isn't legal and shouldn't exist; I suspect it's too wide for code and it has to be too close to the intersection. This car has been parked exactly like this since at least 6am (I assume overnight, maybe yesterday). The three cars at this address take turns parking in this spot like this most days. I'm reminded of this past May when there was a car parked on the front lawn of 506 E Wylie (basically across the street from here) and Parking Enforcement kept saying they couldn't see it.
