Credit where credit is due, the city's recent actions to secure this park have been a success overall. The park is cleaner, no open drug use, and families have started bringing their children again.
Unfortunately, it feels like the city's attention to this area has waned, and now the same miscreants are starting to congregate again to test the waters. Please don't stop patrolling/enforcing the park rules now, or it will quickly return to the state it was in. |

The intersection of E Hillside Drive and Woodlawn Ave (leading to Bryan Park) is dangerous. Many cars back up at this intersection, coming from the university or the park, to turn on E Hillside Drive. With E Hillside Drive funneling so much traffic in both directions, people tend to take whatever openings they can get, often not following standard traffic laws (such as yielding to whoever was there first). This intersection would highly benefit from a stop sign. There was a dangerous accident there this morning (see attached photo), where a car flipped upside down from the impact. |
