I am writing to report a harassment incident that happened on Saturday October 24 after the IU-Michigan game. My daughter and I doordash. I was parked in the alley on Kirkwood between Habitat and a church. We have been told by police and parking attendants, we can park in any alley except the one by Chipotle. A red vehicle pulled up behind me and the man driving started honking his horn and yelling at me. He got out of his car, stormed up to my car in my face demanding I move. I said I don't have to. He was cursing at me and yelling it was against the law. I said no it isn't, police have told me I can. He flashed a badge on his belt and said I'm an off duty policeman and I say you can't, I'll call for backup. I said go ahead. I was parked there about 5 minutes. When my daughter came out of SweetGreen he started verbally yelling at her. My daughter said I should have gotten his name, badge number and license plate number, but I was so rattled I didn't. We figured he was probably a security officer somewhere. He was average build, sort hair with a small beard. Probably around 40 to 50 years old. If he really is a policeman, he needs to be fired.
