Traffic Related Complaints

I understand that road maintenance and improvements are important and necessary, however, the amount of construction, road closures, and reduced traffic flows in Bloomington right now is out of hand. Our city is already seeing an increase in traffic demands as students return and it's going to get worse, however, full and partial road closures are increasing. This is a nightmare for people who live, work, and try to get their kids to school in this town but it reflects poorly on those new to Bloomington too. I can't hardly get my child to school, every time I try to find an alternative route, it's closed or down to one lane. Yesterday there was no sign even, just a person standing in the middle of 2nd and Walnut, without a stop sign or anything, which is obviously frustrating to drivers, but INCREDIBLY dangerous for that person. Grimes, Rogers, 2nd, Bloomfield, Kirkwood, Lincoln, Walnut-- there has to be better planning. Shutting down or reducing traffic on these key thorough fares from east to west and back, all in the same time period, has been terrible to deal with and it's dangerous. Please consider spreading work out in the future. I know it's not an easy job but I've lived here for 14 years and I've never seen it so bad as this. I don't want to go anywhere in town because it's a traffic disaster everywhere you turn and I know I'm in the majority. What does that do for our local businesses and university?
